Earle Treptow Elected District President

It has just been announced that Pastor Earle Treptow has been elected to serve as the Nebraska District President.  He has asked for a few hours to deliberate this very important decision.  We ask that God Bless him with wisdom and strength as he approaches Him in prayer.

Earle Treptow Accepts Call

Pastor Treptow has announced that he has accepted the call to serve as the Nebraska District President and shared these thoughts with the convention:

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are.” With the Apostle John we rightly marvel at the Lord’s great mercy in taking on flesh to live and die in our place, to rescue us from the punishment that we deserve. That the Lord would reach out to undeserving sinners by his Word and call them to faith is nothing short of amazing! And that the Lord would choose to work through clay pots to proclaim to others the love of Christ boggles the mind.

I stand before you today marveling at the Lord’s grace in calling me through you to serve as president of the Nebraska District. I appreciate the trust that you have placed in me by extending this Call. Trusting that the Lord does what he says, that he equips his people to carry out the work to which he has Called them, I have decided to accept the Call that you have extended. I do so with some trepidation, as you might imagine, but also with the confidence that the Lord will work through me to carry out his ministry.

I ask your prayers. This is a great and responsible office, one carried out so faithfully and well by Pastor Frank. Pray that I may ground myself in the Word so that I am thoroughly equipped for every good work. Pray that I would often seek the wise counsel of those around me. Pray for my dear wife, Jeanne, who has been the helper I need and more, that the Lord would continue to grant her a rich measure of patience. Pray for my congregation, a wonderful group with which to labor, that they would adjust to this new situation. Pray for Pastor-elect Brett Krause as he has to work with me.

I also ask for your patience. I appreciate the words of Pastor Frank in his President’s Report, acknowledging that there is a learning curve. The Lord has richly blessed us through his labors and I cannot be in these opening years what he has been. But the Lord is good and he will bless us as we move forward together.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us! He allows us to move forward with his message of forgiveness, to be his instruments in calling others to faith and encouraging those who know the Savior. He will equip us!"

We pray that the Lord give Pastor Treptow strength and wisdom in this very important position.
